The San Antonio Police Officers Association Patricia Calderon Scholarship (formerly SAPOA Blue Cares Scholarship) was created in memory of Officer Patricia Calderon, the first female officer killed in the line of duty, on December 27, 1988.
The SAPOA Patricia Calderon Scholarship continues to honor all San Antonio Police Officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving to protect our city. The keep their memories alive by awarding college scholarships to deserving applicants wishing to further their education.
