Cheer Program Overview

The St. Anthony Catholic High School Yellow Jacket Cheerleaders finds its true value in supporting all athletic teams along with the entire school community. It’s sole purpose is to promote school spirit while developing good sportsmanship. The STA Cheer Team cheers competitively through NCA, while developing the ability to work as part of a group in achieving common goals. The organization builds self-confidence, and self-discipline, promotes leadership, and encourages high morals and standards among its members. We strive to represent the school and community in an exemplary manner, serving as a role model for appropriate behavior and citizenship.

Coach Ortiz's Bio

Marissa Ortiz is the head coach for St. Anthony Catholic High School Yellow Jacket's cheerleading. This is her second year with St. Anthony's cheer squad. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio with a B.A. in Psychology. Ortiz has coached cheerleaders from 4 to 18 years old. She is proficient in coaching all-star, elementary, middle and high school cheer. Ms. Ortiz has over 14 years of experience  coaching cheer and has participated in numerous cheer competitions.
